Walking down the steps...

...from the top of the Basilica de la Virgen de Guadalupe in Mexico City.





My own translation of the text:

"The ground on which you walk, pilgrim, is sacred as Mary stepped on this ground when she appeared to Juan Diego on this very hill.

Continue walking with a caring and joyful heart until you find the fountain that symbolizes 'The Offering' Mexico makes to its Virgin.

Since the beginning of history and of Tepeyac, two impetuous waterfalls flow, a symbol of the brave Aztec race and of missionary Spain, calmly joining together at the feet of Mary, Mother and Teacher of the country of Mexico."

It's an awesome sight. I never tire of it, even though I've seen it several times before.
